While Hurricane Matthew is wreaking havoc on states like Florida and Georgia, Charlotte Motor Speedway was catching some of the rain from the storm on Friday. Constant rain and a forecast that showed it wasn’t stopping anytime soon forced NASCAR to postpone the XFINITY Series race – which was originally scheduled for Friday night – to Sunday morning at 11AM ET.

NASCAR cancelled all other track activity for the day as well, including two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice sessions. The Sprint Cup Series is still scheduled for Saturday night at 7PM ET. However, track officials and NASCAR continue to keep an eye on the storm system that caused North Carolina governor Pat McCrory to declare a state of emergency for the entire state.

The XFINITY Series starting lineup was set by the fastest-to-slowest speeds from Thursday’s practice sessions, putting Kyle Larson on the pole. Erik Jones will start alongside Larson, followed by Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, and Brandon Jones.
