Non-Chasers Fast in Saturday Morning NSCS Practice Session

Fort Worth, Texas – Rookie driver Ryan Blaney showed some speed during the first of two practice sessions Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway. His fastest lap was 28.645 seconds, beating second-place driver AJ Allmendinger’s lap time of 28.646 seconds.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was third quickest, followed by Casey Mears and Paul Menard.

The rest of the top 10 included Michael McDowell, Chase Elliott, Trevor Bayne, Joey Logano, and Greg Biffle, with Logano putting down the fastest lap time of any of the eight Chase drivers.

Chase drivers:

  • Joey Logano – 9th
  • Jimmie Johnson – 16th
  • Carl Edwards – 22nd
  • Kyle Busch – 23rd
  • Matt Kenseth – 24th
  • Kurt Busch – 29th
  • Kevin Harvick – 30th
  • Denny Hamlin – 33rd

The Sprint Cup Series will have one final practice session later this afternoon at 12:30PM CT.

The AAA Texas 500 will begin Sunday, November 6th, at 1PM CT.
