FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Matt DiBenedetto will not be participating in today’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, as physicians have not cleared him to compete. DiBenedetto was involved in a crash in the XFINITY Series race the previous day and went to the infield care center. He entered NASCAR’s concussion protocol and will go under further evaluation later in the week.

Jeffrey Earnhardt flew into the track Sunday morning and will drive the No. 83 car in DiBenedetto’s place.

Earnhardt has competed in 19 of 34 Sprint Cup Series race this season. His best finish was 26th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He competed in the spring race at TMS earlier this season and finished 35th.
