A few weeks after confirming the departures of both of their two full-time drivers from 2016, the first inklings of BK Racing’s 2017 lineup have been revealed.

The Huntersville, N.C.-based organization announced on Monday that Joey Gase will join the team for ‘multiple races’ throughout the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Gase will make his debut for the team in the season-opening Daytona 500. The Iowan has also been confirmed for August’s Bristol Night Race, with the potential for more races based on funding. Gase’s two confirmed starts will come with financial support from Best Home Furnishings.

“We’re thrilled to have Joey and Best Home Furnishings, one of the largest furniture manufacturers, join us for the Daytona 500 in February” Ron Devine, owner of BK Racing said in a release. “It is the largest race of our series and a wonderful event for Joey to debut his BK Racing relationship. We’ve been watching Joey’s growth for quite some time and looking forward to seeing what he can do behind the wheel of a BK Race car.”

Gase enters 2017 with 13-career MENCS appearances, including six starts in 2016 for Go FAS Racing. The 23-year-old has competed full-time in the XFINITY Series with Jimmy Means Racing since 2013, finishing as high as 20th (2014) in the series standings and scoring a career-best finish of fifth at Talladega Superspeedway in 2015.

“I cannot put into words how thankful I am for the opportunity everyone at Best Home Furnishings and BK Racing has given me,” Gase said in a release. “Racing in the Daytona 500 and the Bristol night race has been a dream of mine since I can remember. It’s very exciting to share this experience with everyone at Best Home Furnishings and those who have helped me get to this point in my career.”

The announcement serves as the first official addition to BK Racing’s driver lineup after the organization confirmed the departures of Matt DiBenedetto and David Ragan following the 2016 season. Both drivers intend to compete full-time next season, with DiBenedetto joining Go FAS Racing and Ragan returning to Front Row Motorsports, a team he brought a victory to in 2013 at Talladega.
