ROSSBURG, Ohio — Stewart Friesen’s strong week at Eldora Speedway continued with a run to the pole for Wednesday’s Eldora Dirt Derby. Friesen will lead the field to green in Qualifying Race 1.

A fast lap of 20.000 seconds (at a satisfying 90.000 mph, no less) was good enough to give Friesen his first Keystone Light Pole award in 15-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, as well as the first for Halmar Friesen Racing.

One day removed from a wild crash that forced his Brad Keselowski Racing team to get out a backup truck, Chase Briscoe soared to second with a time of 20.183 seconds. Kaz Grala (20.179), Christopher Bell (20.216) and Noah Gragson (20.240) rounded out the top five, with Justin Shipley, Matt Crafton, Ryan Truex, Caleb Holman and Rico Abreu completing the top 10.

JR Heffner was the first to be confirmed out of the night’s 150-lap feature after a blown motor ended his qualifying session early.

Max Johnston also found trouble with a spin during his session, but continued on without issue to a 22nd-place effort.
