BROOKLYN, Mich. — Grant Enfinger’s playoff hopes appear due for a significant blow after a post-race inspection failure at Michigan International Speedway.

Enfinger’s No. 98 ThorSport Racing Toyota failed post-race height inspection after the Alabama native’s eighth-place finish in Saturday’s LTi Printing 200.

Per the NASCAR rulebook, ThorSport Racing could be due for the loss of 10 points in both the driver’s and owner’s points standings, as well as a one-race suspension for crew chief Jeff Hensley.

Such a penalty might prove critical to Enfinger’s playoff hopes. The 32-year-old currently sits seventh in the standings, 14 points behind sixth-place Ben Rhodes for the final playoff position on points as things stand.
