Following his win at Road America, the eyes of Jeremy Clements and Jeremy Clements Racing are on the playoffs. Before the win, the team had no chance of making the playoffs, but now Clements is one of the four NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) regulars to make the playoffs through a race win.

With the playoffs beginning in three races, Clements is focused on advancing from the first round. The first round of the NXS Playoffs include Kentucky Speedway, Dover International Speedway, and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Clements looks at least year and believes that anything is possible.

“We are looking at those first three especially. Those are the ones we got to advance to the next round,” said Clements. “Last year, Erik Jones had some difficulty at Kentucky, and about missed the next round.”

Being a small team in NXS, the team has to use “new to them” cars from organizations like Richard Childress Racing. Clements noted that the newest car he has driven was from 2013.

“We are going to bring the best possible equipment we can and run the best we can and try to have no trouble. That is going to be our key to success,” said Clements.

Looking back on last season, Clements saw how drivers like Erik Jones almost missing the second round through more trouble. Clements hopes those guys in top teams will struggle so they can capitalize on those opportunities to advance.

“Just kinda hope some of those other guys have trouble,” said Clements. “Some of those races would be hard to run Elliott Sadler and guys like that in top-notch equipment. We are trying not to have trouble.”

Being the “underdog”, Clements will do his best to advance in the playoffs further than anybody would have imagined.
