TALLADEGA, Ala. – In a show of strength and support for his hometown in the wake of the tragic shooting deaths of 58 people and injuries to more than 500 at a concert outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Ashley and Kurt Busch transformed their garden into a beautiful tribute to those whose lives were lost.

“Ashley and I were inspired to do something together to pay tribute to my hometown and recognize our brothers and sisters who lost their lives during the tragedy that happened in Las Vegas,” Kurt Busch told Kickin’ the Tires.

Busch and other drivers from the Las Vegas area, including his brother Kyle Busch, Brendan Gaughan, Spencer Gallagher and Noah Gragson, among others are all planning charitable endeavors to help those affected by the shooter. The group has already created a Web site – www.driversforvegas.com – to help raise money for the victims and their families but that wasn’t enough for Ashley and Kurt, who created an amazing landscaped floral feature.

“We are planning events and fundraisers for the near future, that will focus on #VegasStrong, but we wanted to share a small gesture from our own home,” Kurt Busch said, “So, we decided to roll our sleeves up, fill up the tire on the wheelbarrow, and got busy in our own garden. This tribute memorial is meant to honor those who lost their lives in Las Vegas.”

The Busch’s, who were just married in January, planted 58 seasonal white pumpkins, each adorned with the name of a victim who died in the shooting. Surrounding the pumpkins are bright yellow and purple flowers, as well as, American flags.

“This not only represents the tragedy that happened in Las Vegas, but also a peaceful reminder to give tribute to all of the events going on around the world,” he said.
