StarCom Racing acquires charter, signs driver for ’19

Another piece into the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup puzzle was announced Monday.

StarCom Racing announced that Landon Cassill would drive the No. 00 Chevrolet for the organization full-time in 2019.

Cassill joined StarCom Racing in 2018 at the Martinsville Spring race. His best finish with the team came at the Playoffs opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where he finished 18th.

On Friday last week, Richard Childress told reporters that he sold his third charter, which he leased to StarCom in 2018, to them.

With the charter, StarCom is guaranteed a starting position in every Cup points event. The organization has been around since 2017.

StarCom Racing also moved into a new 20,000 square-foot facility in Salisbury, North Carolina. The team has also upgraded their engine program with ECR Engines.
