DGR signs Alfredo for their No. 17 ARCA Ford at Michigan

DGR-Crosley will ‘get the band back together’ as they will have Anthony Alfredo drive the No. 17 Ford Fusion in the VizCom 200.

Alfredo drove in 13 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series races for DGR last season. The ARCA Menards Series race at Michigan International Speedway will mark the first time the duo has teamed up this season. Blake Bainbridge will serve as Alfredo’s crew chief.

In 2020, Alfredo shifted from a part-time Truck Series schedule to a part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule. In 10 starts he has earned one top-five and six top-10s with Richard Childress Racing. Alfredo has several weeks off from the Xfinity Series until his next scheduled start with RCR.

“Since I have a few weeks off from the NASCAR Xfinity Series, I am very excited to strap into an ARCA Menards Series car for DGR-Crosley at Michigan as I make just my third start in the series,” explained Alfredo. “It will be a pleasure to work with the men and women at DGR-Crosley again.

“I am very thankful for David Gilliland and everyone on the team for giving me the opportunity to compete in this race, and I know they are working hard to bring me a great car so we can have a shot to win. I plan on making everyone proud by having a successful weekend and ultimately taking home the checkered flag.”

During his tenure with DGR-Crosley, Alfredo earned two top-10 finishes. He appeared poised to earn a top-five finish at Michigan until a late-race accident on a restart abruptly ended his race.

“We are pleased to have Anthony back with our team next weekend at Michigan for the ARCA race,” admitted David Gilliland, co-owner of DGR-Crosley. “We really enjoyed working with him last year and I think he’ll do a great job for us.”

Alfredo has two career ARCA starts in 2018. He earned a top-10 in his debut at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. Alfredo was also running inside the top-10 at Kansas Speedway until an engine failure.

The 21-year-old will have full-time DGR ARCA drivers Hailie Deegan and Thad Moffitt as teammates. The DGR No. 17 Ford currently sits sixth in the ARCA owner points standings.
