It’s Ty Gibbs’ world, we’re just living in it.
Man, what a time it is to be alive. On Saturday night, Gibbs tallied his 11th career victory.
Gibbs now ties Jack Harrison, Ernie Derr, Fred Lorenzen, and Don White for 27th on the all-time wins list. Though his last couple of wins, Kansas and Dover, came moderately easily, Saturday’s race held something different… a challenger.

Corey Heim managed to lead 47 laps Saturday Night breaking the streak that Gibbs had held leading over 300 consecutive laps. Despite holding the lead momentarily, Heim still didn’t have enough to hold off the dominant No. 18. Heim and Gibbs once again bumped heads but again, Heim leaves Toledo with the points lead as the Series heads to Charlotte. Gibbs though will lead the Sioux Chief Showdown standings by just one point.
Since Talladega, Nick Sanchez has been on fire. The driver of the No. 2 for REV Racing tallied a third-place finish Saturday Night and holds the third position in the Sioux Chief Showdown Series. Sanchez is inching closer and closer to a contender for the ARCA Menards Series championship and very well could have something to do with the Sioux Chief Showdown championship by the time the series gets to Salem in October.
Add Jesse Love to the conversation for the Sioux Chief Showdown championship as he made a splash battling both the ARCA Menards Series championship contenders. Though Love will not compete at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, he still has a solid opportunity should one of the two contenders have a bad run. He sits fourth three points behind Gibbs.
Thad Moffitt is using the ARCA Menards Series the smart way. Developing his skills and driving, Moffitt has improved over the last couple of seasons. He solidly finishing fifth Saturday Night and is looking consistent and about to go on a tear. The grandson of Richard Petty could very well find his first career victory within the Sioux Chief Showdown, especially with his performance so far this season.

Best from the East
Rette Jones Racing though did enter Cole Williams in the No. 30 car that is usually driven by Max Gutierrez. The 25-year old from Sellersburg, Indiana made his first ARCA Menards Series start since 2016 and tallied his first career top-10 finish. Adam Lemke was expected to race that car this weekend but was replaced last minute
Dick Doheny finished 10th.
The ARCA Menards Series East returns to action on June 12th from the Southern National Motorsports Park.
Best from the West
2020 ARCA Menards Series West Love was the best finishing West Series driver Saturday at Toledo Speedway. Love finished fourth after dealing with a broken exhaust piece at the end of the race that limited the horsepower in his No. 15 Mobil 1 Toyota Camry.
The ARCA Menards Series West returns to action on June 5th from the Sonoma Raceway. The conflict is the reasoning why Love isn’t slated to run the race at Mid-Ohio.

The Sioux Chief Showdown returns on June 4th from the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
