Though Brandonbilt Motorsports often brings new sponsors to the sport of NASCAR, it also welcomes them back.
For the ninth time, Jabs Construction will sponsor Brandon Brown and his No. 68 Chevrolet. They will color the sides of the car for Saturday’s Ambetter Get Vaccinated 200 from New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Brown, who hails from the company’s home state of Virginia, is happy to have a reoccurring name do business with his racing efforts.
“If you look at it, the Jabs car has really been the staple-event car for us,” Brown told Kickin’ The Tires. “Last year, when we raced our way into the playoffs, we were racing the Jabs No. 68. We had the car at the Daytona Road Course this year. We’ve had a lot of fun with them.
“It’s very awesome to have Tim and his family support our team and our efforts. Being a local of the Northern Virginia area, it was really awesome to bring the hometown in on it. We hope to give back to the community that has built us. It’s really exciting. Tim and his family have been awesome to us. His wife is friends with my mom.
“It’s cool to know that when you’re out there racing your heart out, there are people at home really cheering for you. it makes you feel good that you’re making the hometown proud.”
Tim Jabs, vice president of Jabs Construction, see’s the benefits of NASCAR sponsorship, particularly with the family-owned Brandonbilt.
“My brother and I own the business, my folks started this thing in 1978. My brother and I took it over in the early ’90s,” said Jabs. “We’ve been onboard for a couple years now. The exposure is nice, the additional social interaction and social media is nice and it has helped us quite a bit in that field.”
The partnership with Jabs began when Tim ran into Brown’s mother while watching a race.
“I asked her, ‘What would it take to get my name on the car?’ And she said, ‘I’ll have Brandon call you,'” he said. “Basically, from that point on, we’ve been a small sponsor the last couple years. It’s exciting, it’s fun and it’s a new venue. It’s actually adding value to our company which is a good thing.”
Jabs Construction Inc. is a full-service design/build residential remodeling company with a Class A license, serving various areas of Virginia.
“We basically build anything regarding residential houses,” he said. “Kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, basements, front porches, whole house remodels. We have electricians on staff who do service calls. We’re a local business, we’re not international, we’re not a huge company.
“We’ve sponsored and been in all sorts of local charities, local little leagues, basketball teams, scouts. We donate a lot of time and energy into a lot of social communities and things that do good.”
Brown races Saturday at New Hampshire for only the second time in an Xfinity car, last placing 16th in the summer of 2019. With a hot and slick surface in store, Brown, starting 22nd, feels he will be stacking some fantasy points from start to finish.
“The hot and slick does suit my style. That track brings it back to the driver,” he said. “The hardest thing about this track is that it’s really hard to pass.Long wide, sweeping corners. If you don’t have the momentum, it’s going to show.
“I’m going to have to do a lot of [passing] because of our poor finish at Atlanta. If you’re watching the No. 68 Jabs car and you’ve got your Draft Kings pulled up, there are going to be a lot of cars passed. You have a chance to make some money. Put your bets on the No. 68!”
Jabs will return to sponsor the No. 68 September 17 at Bristol Motor Speedway, the regular-season finale for the series.
