A hold in the nose of the No. 66 Toyota Tundra left Ty Majeski with a top-10 finish at Nashville Superspeedway.

The ThorSport Racing driver appeared to be set for his first career top-five finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, let alone NASCAR competition. Majeski maneuvered the No. 66 Sim Craft Toyota Tundra ahead of Stewart Friesen during the final green flag run. With passing at a premium, track position was key in the Rackley Roofing 200. However, in the final 10 laps, Majeski slipped down the running order.

The Seymour, WI native lost fifth to Friesen. Majeski fell behind his ThorSport teammates Matt Crafton and Ben Rhodes. The loss of speed and momentum was due to a hole in the right front nose of the 26-year-old’s Tundra. Despite the damage, Majeski held on to take the checkered flag in eighth.

“Another solid P8 tonight!” Majeski stated on Twitter post-race. “Had a shot at a top-five but had a huge hold in the (right front) of our nose that cost us at the end. Proud of the effort from everyone at ThorSport Racing on the Sim Craft Tundra. Sure is fun to drive fast trucks.”

Nashville Superspeedway was just the fourth Truck race this season that featured practice and qualifying. Majeski qualified 13th after running 19th in practice. He finished both Stages outside of the top-10.

The race at Nashville was the second of two races that Majeski currently had scheduled with ThorSport in 2021.

Majeski’s top-10 finish moved the No. 66 in 38th in Truck Series owner points. For weekends without qualifying, the top-40 in owner points (that are entered) are guaranteed a spot on the starting grid. ThorSport’s No. 66 currently has a 47-point cushion over 41st in owner points, the Niece Motorsports No. 44.

The eighth-place finish is the second top-10 for Majeski in 2021. It is also the fifth top-10 in his Truck Series career.
