19-year old Kody Vanderwal will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in Saturday’s LS Tractor 200 at Phoenix Raceway in the No. 52 for Jimmy Means Racing.

Vanderwal has 32 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts with one pole, two wins, eight top-five and 18 top-10 finishes under his belt.

In December, Vanderwel found himself approached by Jimmy Means Racing with the opportunity to make his NXS debut.

”I wasn’t sure if I would ever get the chance to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, but I jumped at the chance when I got the call,” said Vanderwel in a press release. “I’m excited to show the team and my fellow competitors what I am capable of.”

In a career that started at the age of 11, Vanderwel began with full-bodied stock cars in enduro races on dirt at 1-76 Speedway in Fort, Morgan Colorado.

Then at the age of 14, Vanderwel went on to race on asphalt in the Pure Stock division at Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, CO. Additionally, he went on to win in four different divisions and earned a Pro Truck Championship.

“This is all that I ever wanted to do,” expressed Vanderwel. “It continues to be the result of a lot of hard work and many people working together to financially make this possible. I hope to keep racing as long as I receive the support that I need to do this.”

The NASCAR Xfinity Series LS Tractor 200 at Phoenix Raceway will take place on Saturday March 7 at 4:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
