MANTECA, CALIFORNIA (February 26, 2024) – 17-year-old Henry Barton of San Fransisco has teamed up with Nascimento Motorsports for a 2024 campaign across Pro Late Models and the ARCA Menards Series West. The partnership will begin on March 2 during the zMAX CARS Tour West opener at the half-mile Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. Barton will drive the No. 21 Chevrolet for Nascimento Motorsports in Late Model competition.
ARCA championship crew chief Ty Joiner continues his role with the team as the crew chief for Henry Barton’s efforts in 2024. Barton will split time with Ethan Nascimento in the ARCA Menards Series West, with at least four scheduled races planned.
Barton honed his craft in the INEX Legends cars, winning the 2023 INEX Legends Tour Series championship while also accumulating wins at Lakeport Speedway and Ukiah Speedway. He also made selected starts in the Jr. Late Model and Pro Late Model divisions at Madera Speedway. Barton is currently a junior at the U.S. Performance Academy, an online school for athletes.
“It means a lot to team up with a team of the caliber of Nascimento Motorsports,” Barton said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together! I’m obviously looking to win but also get used to the half-mile track as well as getting used to working with a new team.”
Barton and Nascimento Motorsports tested Kern Raceway in February in preparation for the event, which is expected to attract over 30 Pro Late Models to the state-of-the-art speedway located west of Bakersfield.
Nascimento Motorsports is an accomplished Late Model and ARCA team based in Manteca, Calif. The family owned and operated team notably has won three times in the prestigious Short Track Shootout at Madera Speedway. In 2022 they captured the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model championship with Ethan Nascimento driving.
