Global fuel leader Shell stands shoulder to shoulder with Team Penske through a partnership that has stood the test of time and benefited race fans at almost every point in its historic support of motorsports. Backing the No. 22 Ford Dark Horse Mustang with Joey Logano behind the wheel, the company and Team Penske have rolled out a new program tied to the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season that aims straight at the pump.

Under the “Race Day Rewards” program, which spans the full 2026 Cup schedule, Shell Fuel will give members a shot to shave 22 cents per gallon off every fuel grade when they fill up on race day at Shell stations. The offer will fire up with the season opener, this Sunday’s Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Fans who opt in and top off on race day will pocket savings throughout the season.

Non-members are not left on the outside looking in. Anyone can download the Shell App, join Fuel Rewards, opt into the offer, and unlock the benefit that runs across the 10-month stretch from February through November. On each scheduled Cup race day, when consumers pull into a participating Shell station and fill their tanks, the price will drop by 22 cents per gallon across all gasoline grades, including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.

“This is good for people that aren’t NASCAR fans, too,” Logano said. “Everybody can enjoy this one, which is super cool. You’ll be able to save 22-cents off per gallon on all gasoline on a race day. And that’s pretty exciting.

“It’s a 37-week opportunity for everybody and pretty simple to sign up … I think by the end of the day, everybody likes saving money. And if I can help them do that, then maybe they will root for the 22 car a little bit more, too.”

Logano joined Team Penske in 2013. Since then, he has claimed 35 wins and has carried Shell along for the ride through that run. The sponsor’s backing has powered his tenure, and Logano has returned the favor by turning exposure into mileage for the brand.

Zoë Baldwin, General Manager of Mobility Marketing North America for Shell, spoke about the rollout, saying, “We are so thrilled to be bringing this offer not only to motor racing fans, who are some of the most loyal fans in all of sports, but also to consumers as an introduction to the sport. The Race Day Rewards program is unique in that it rewards all fans and general consumers alike, is simple to opt in to, and provides 37 opportunities to save at the pump all season long.”

However, Shell dipped into this playbook before, though never for an entire season. Past efforts allowed customers to save 20 cents on the 20th of each month and in 2016 and 2017, Shell supported Kickin’ the Tires in giving out free $10 fuel cards to race fans across the country during the Chasing the Chase and Playoff Pursuit events. Another campaign, tied to Logano’s results in the Shell Ford Mustang and dubbed “Winsdays,” cut 22 cents per gallon for Rewards members each Wednesday after a Logano Cup victory.
