On Tuesday, ARCA officials announced that Taylor Gray has been fined $1,000 and placed on probation for all of the 2021 racing season after using his cellphone to record himself while driving during Friday’s (January 15th) ARCA Menards Series test at Daytona.
ARCA officials say that Gray violated Section 20C-6.7 during the session which complies with the use of onboard electronic devices, including a cellular device. Gray, along with his crew chief and team manager were all called to the ARCA hauler before Saturday’s session in which they discussed the misuse of a cellphone in the vehicle.
As seen below in a video posted to Twitter, Gray pointed the front-facing camera towards his steering wheel then turning it to himself before pointing it back towards the steering wheel as he approached turn four.
Hey @TaylorGray17_ I'm pretty sure when your going for a @ARCA_Racing license this isn't the proper play chief.
