Ryan Sieg’s younger brother Kyle kicked off the Xfinity Series/ARCA Menards Series double hitter Saturday with a fifth-place finish in his first start on a superspeedway. Sieg stayed towards the back of the pack before methodically working his way towards the front, ultimately earning his first career top-five finish in the ARCA Menards Series.

“It’s really good actually,” said Sieg. “First time here at Daytona with a P5 finish. Couldn’t ask for anything more but I’ve just got to thank all of the guys back at the shop for creating a good car. We’ve gotta thank Night Owl for coming on board here, they’ve been with us for the last five years helping my brother out and me now. Thankful to come out with a P5 finish.”

Sieg participated in the ARCA Menards Series pre-season test at Daytona in January, ending the first day of the test in 28th. Despite running the test, racing at Daytona was definitely something different for Sieg , especially when it comes to pack racing.

“It was a lot more than what I envisioned when you get 10-15 more cars in a pack and cars are hitting you from behind and you like oh man,” Sieg said. “The 17 and 8, they were giving good pushes there at the end.”

It was announced by RSS Racing that Sieg would run part-time in the ARCA Menards Series this season with an unknown number of races on top of the exact schedule.
