Taylor Gray Injured in Non-Racing Related Car Accident; In Stable Condition

ARCA Menards Series driver Taylor Gray has been hospitalized following a single-car accident Wednesday Night (April 7th).

According to the release from David Gilliland Racing, the accident occurred in Statesville, North Carolina, and was non-racing related. 

Following the accident, Gray’s condition was listed as stable. 

He was slated to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Richmond Raceway next weekend but his participation in that event is up in the air and will be updated closer to the event. 

UPDATE: Taylor Gray underwent surgery today (April 8th) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a fractured L4 vertebra.

He will undergo another surgery for a fractured left foot and ankle. He is expected to make a full recovery. 

Due to the injuries sustained, Gray will not make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Richmond Raceway next weekend., according to the team. The No. 17 entry has been withdrawn from the event. 

Gray currently competes full-time in the ARCA Menards Series East. He is currently second, eight points behind points leader Sammy Smith. He is still seeking his first career ARCA Menards Series East victory this season. He’s a leading contender for the ARCA Menards Series East championship.

Gray earned his first career ARCA Menards Series West victory last season at Kern County Raceway.
