In a social media post Tuesday afternoon, Daniel Suárez announced he would not be returning to Trackhouse Racing in 2026, stating he and the team have mutually agreed to go their separate ways.

“Trackhouse and I have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025 season,” Suárez said in a statement on social media. “I’ve had some of the best years of my Cup Series career at Trackhouse. We had great successes as a team and I gained some incredible friends. We took a team nobody had even heard of in 2021 and in just a couple of years we were winning races and running up front on a weekly basis.”

Suárez went on to say “I wish Trackhouse nothing but the best, this 99 team will always be special to me. And like I always say, the best is ahead!”

Neither Suárez nor the team has announced their plans for next season as of this time.

For Trackhouse, it’s important to note the team has 18-year-old Connor Zilisch waiting in the wings. Zilisch is under contract as a development driver with Trackhouse and has run three Cup Series races this season, where he is coming off a career-best finish of 11th at EchoPark Speedway this past weekend. He’s also competing full-time in the Xfinity Series this season for JR Motorsports and has two wins in 16 starts.

Meanwhile, Suárez is in his fifth season with Trackhouse, having driven for the team since its inaugural season in 2021. In that span he has collected two wins, 15 top fives and 39 top 10 finishes with a best points finish of 10th in 2022. He has made the playoffs in two out of four seasons with the team.

“The role Daniel has played in the Trackhouse origin story and its first five years will remain a valued part of the company’s history forever,” team owner Justin Marks said in a statement. “His commitment, work ethic and dedication to the effort is one of the most impressive things I have personally seen in my career.”

Marks continued.

“We will forever be thankful and honored that Daniel chose to spend many incredible years with us. We are proud of his wins, his successes, the growth of his brand, and his emergence as a valuable athlete in America’s greatest motorsport. But, most of all, I’m proud of him as a friend. I’m truly excited to see what awaits him in the next chapter of his amazing career. We are grateful for the professionalism, effort and heart he’s brought to our organization.”

Suárez currently sits 29th in points this season ahead of this weekend’s Chicago Street Race, but the team stated he will remain in the seat for the remainder of the 2025 season “as the team works to win more races and earn a playoff spot.”

In a statement from the team, Suárez took an opportunity to thank those who have helped him along the way and continue to support him in his time at Trackhouse.

“I want to thank all the men and women at Trackhouse Racing for your love and support,” Suárez said.

The 33-year-old Suárez is in his ninth full-time season in the Cup Series, having made 305 career starts between Joe Gibbs Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Gaunt Brothers Racing and Trackhouse. In addition to his two Cup Series wins (both with Trackhouse), he also has four Xfinity Series victories and an Xfinity Series championship on his racing résumé.

Suárez is the only Mexican-born driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race.
