INDIANAPOLIS – With his second consecutive victory at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Ty Majeski secures his spot in the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs.
It was his first win of the season, coming in the penultimate race of the regular season.
“It’s all about peaking at the right time,” Majeski shared after the race.
Majeski led the fewest laps among the three drivers to turn a lap in front of the 35-truck field during the TSport 200, but all 56 laps he did lead were the ones that mattered most.
Despite having the most dominant truck, it took three-fourths of the race to put it on display due to a restart violation after the first caution of the day when Ty Dillon spun in Turn 3. The drive-through penalty made him lose nearly a full lap as he came back out just a second in front of the leaders.
“I made a little bit of a mistake,” admitted Majeski. “It was probably a little bit of a close call on that restart. I had to pony up and get it back. Obviously, when you make a mistake as a driver, you drive a little bit harder to make up for it, but these guys had my back.”
Earlier races this year showed potential for Majeski to visit Victory Lane earlier but misfortune prevented it for the first 14 races, including two runner-up finishes.
“It’s been an up-and-down year. We’ve had the speed to win. Just haven’t been able to put it together, had some bad luck along the way, some of it self-inflicted. But, man, so proud of this Road Ranger group.”
Grant Enfinger and Tyler Ankrum locked in spots for the Playoffs on points, leaving three left to determine the 10 drivers pursuing the championship.
The last race of the regular season will be at Richmond Raceway on August 10. Green flag is scheduled to wave at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
