DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – To say it was an interesting 2021 and off-season for Brandon Brown would be an understatement but last year’s Talladega Superspeedway winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series is focused on what’s in front of him and standing in the garage after qualifying, he said 2022 is going to be a great year.
“It feels great to buckle back in and, kind of, zone in and do what I love to do because that’s what all of this is about. You know, all the publicity and everything that was going on, some people forget it’s not just to be a celebrity and be known, it is so that I can go racing and do what I love. I am just amped to get back at it.”
Brown said he isn’t letting himself be distracted with issues of the past and wants everyone to realize that Brandonbilt Motorsports is still a family-oriented and family-owned racing team. And he said being in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway gives them a chance to show off the hard work they have put into improving their equipment.
“We just pressed ourselves putting together fast racecars and making sure everything was going to flow as soon as we dropped the tailgate,” Brown said. “It is exciting to see that we were fighting inside the Top 10 to make the second round of qualifying. You know, we just missed it but it is still an awesome feeling to be up front. I think it will be a real testament to how we can run this year and show off our car, so we can go fill that hood with some more logos.
“We are definitely the family team still. Nothing has changed, I am still out here working with the team day in and day out just to make sure everything is flowing. They did kick me more to the driving duties, which is awesome but at the same time, I still like to try and help out where I can. I am just so proud of this team and how we have grown.
One of the positives that Brown wanted to mention was that Brandonbilt Motorsports now has its own dedicated sales staff for the team, which should help them be able to reach more potential sponsors and hopefully celebrate in Victory Lane, again. It’s something he and his dad are proud of and he did confirm there will be a new sponsor coming on board in just a few weeks. Currently, the car carries sponsorship from crypto-currency tracking and alert company, Trade the Chain and also SENT Token.
“They are going to be working really hard to bring partnerships to the car,” he said. “We’re excited to announce some new sponsors starting at Atlanta, which I am amped about. Obviously, I love building relationships inside and outside of the garage, so it is just going to be a great thing all around. It is good to get out of that off-season and get back into the swing of things.
