From the land of unlimited speed Autobahn to the fastest drafting track in NASCAR, Ryan Vargas will do it all in the course of two weeks.

On September 23 and 24 the NASCAR Next alum will make his NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Pro debut in the German GP at Oschersleben. Vargas will drive the No. 30 Critical Path Security Chevrolet Camaro in both races on Saturday and Sunday. It is the first time that the EuroNASCAR divisions have competed at the German road course.

The effort for the 3F Racing Head of Team and Driver Development is a joint one between 3F Racing and Team FJ. The latter is owned by Jerome Galpin, the Series Director for the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. When the green flag waves in Germany, Vargas will become just the 11th American to compete in both NASCAR’s National Touring Series and in NASCAR’s European arm. He would be the 21st driver to compete in both the U.S. and European NASCAR divisions overall.

“I am humbled to make the trip to Germany to run in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series race with my friends at 3F Racing,” Vargas said. “It has always been a dream of mine to race overseas and to do that with the support of my friends at Critical Path Security makes it all the more special. I’ve been a fan of the series for quite some time and the idea of taking on a new challenge in a whole different car and track is an exciting one.”

After the completion of the second race, Vargas will travel back across the Atlantic for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. At one of the fastest and longest ovals on the circuit, he’ll drive the No. 30 Toyota Tundra for On Point Motorsports. Critical Path Security will follow him as the sponsor.

The unique double header weeks for Vargas, which consists of three races, has the Drive for Diversity alum competing in 3F Racing’s native Germany. The team has been expanding their footprint in the U.S., competing in various Late Model series with development driver Christopher Tate. The unique crossover gives the organization a chance to showcase their program.

“It’s an honor to finally hit the track with 3F Racing on their home turf,” Vargas explained. “The process of helping them expand their footprint in the U.S. with the Late Model program has been a fun project to say the least, and I firmly believe that us making this race happen will only bring more eyes to the program.”

The doubleheader that Vargas will attempt was done, in reverse, by Myatt Snider. In 2019 Snider filled-in for the suspended Johnny Sauter at World Wide Technology Raceway. One week later he competed in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series 2 division at Autodrom Most. In the Truck Series Snider finished 10th. In Europe, he finished 10th and fifth in the two races on the Czech road course.
