Hunter Smith will sport new sponsor Mike D’s BBQ as he returns to the seat of the No. 35 Joey Gase Racing kart in the DNQ Karting Series tomorrow evening.

Smith, the owner of FitStop Performance where he is a performance coach for motorsports athletes is no stranger to racing. Racing is something that the New Jersey native has done for the last 13 years.

As Smith returns to Millbridge Speedway on Monday, he will welcome a new sponsor on board his No.35 and told Kickin’ the Tires he’s excited to have some fun behind the wheel again.

“This is going to be a super fun event,” expressed Smith. “To compete on such a unique platform as a dirt road course at Millbridge Speedway it will be a fun challenge in itself. I’m [very] excited to have the continued support of Rich Mar Florist and FitStop Performance, as well as welcoming a new partner in Mike D’s BBQ! Hopefully we can keep the car clean, stay out of trouble and enjoy some ribs or brisket after the race.”

In addition to Mike D’s BBQ, Smith will see support from popular motorsports sponsor Rich Mar Florist and FitStop Performance.

Mike D’s BBQ

A Durham, North Carolina company, Mike D’s BBQ is no stranger to motorsports. Owned by Michael “Mike D” De Los Santos,  the award-winning company has sponsored NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ryan Sieg on several occasions.

“Mike D’s BBQ is excited to partner with Hunter Smith as he goes go-kart racing,” said Mike D. “As a North Carolina company we [love] supporting fellow North Carolinians, and we think BBQ and racing go hand in hand. This is a great opportunity to accomplish both of those!”

The event at Millbridge Speedway will kick off a multi-race partnership between driver and sponsor. The partnership will continue September 6 at Iredell County Fairgrounds and again on October 13 at Millbridge Speedway.

While the event won’t be televised on national television; it will be posted on the DNQ Karting Series YouTube channel following the event.
