Chip Ganassi Racing kept the fast pace even after qualifying.
GCR held the first, second, and third positions in the eighth practice in advance of Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. Alex Palou, who will start second Sunday, paced the field with an 00:39.2257-second (229.441-mph) lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Indianapolis 500 pole-sitter Scott Dixon was just .0756-seconds off his teammate to place second while Jimmie Johnson was .1673-seconds off the top spot in third.
Takuma Sato and Marcus Ericsson rounded out the top-five practice speeds.

It took eight practices and three qualifying sessions for the first accident to take place. Dalton Kellett didn’t seal his car to the bottom line entering turn one and he snapped it sideways into the outside wall. Kellett was checked and released from the infield care center following the accident.

Monday’s practice session marks the last practice until Miller Lite Carb Day on Friday. The practice session will be broadcasted live on NBC Peacock and will also be available via INDYCAR Radio. The session will begin at 11 a.m. ET and will conclude at 1 p.m. ET.
The 106th Indianapolis 500 will be shown live on NBC on Sunday, May 29th. NBC’s coverage will begin at 11 a.m. ET with the race beginning at 12:45 p.m. ET.
