The fourth race of the 2025 season, the Colorado 150, took place on the 0.375-mile paved oval at Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, CO. The race was red-flagged 60 laps into the race due to rain. After more than two hours of waiting and with no chance of restarting the race due to persistent humidity and showers, ARCA officials decided to confirm the result. Polesitter Jake Bollman, the leader at the time of the red flag, was declared the winner. This was his first career victory, as was the victory for his crew chief Cayden Lapcevich. However, this victory was also the 100th for the Bill McAnally Racing team.

Unlike the Tucson race, which was held on another 0.375-mile short track, there was no brake and tire conservation race. Given the weather conditions, the goal was to position themselves as best and as quickly as possible in case of an interruption. Noteworthy was the superb comeback of championship leader Trevor Huddleston, who started last due to an unapproved adjustment, and managed to slip through the pack to third place. This allows him to maintain his championship lead.

The next race is on Saturday June 14th, when the NAPA Auto Parts 150 returns for the second time this season to Kevin Harivck’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. This will be the second race of the season on this half-mile oval after the one won by Trevor Huddleston on January 25.

After each race, we are going to detail the statistics for each driver, embellished with the reactions collected from many of them, drivers, owners and crew chiefs

Thank you for everything, Chris Wright.

“I’m very thankful for Kevin and DeLana Harvick and Tim and Lisa Huddleston for reaching out to me and wanting me to be a part of their team to help continue to build the Spears CARS Tour West brand. I’m also grateful for my time at NASCAR and the France family for giving me the opportunity to help build the ARCA Series, especially on the West Coast.” Wright said.

The Drivers

No. 05 David Smith (Shockwave Racing)  Start: 12th – Fin: 11th

An anonymous race for the Canadian veteran, who lacked pace. However, he finished 11th out of 12, with his car in one piece. He could have claimed a top-10 finish if the race had gone to the end. Indeed, his tactic of avoiding trouble could prove profitable on a bullring, where contact between cars is an integral part of the risks associated with this type of short-track racing.

No. 1 Robbie Kennealy (Jan’s Racing Team)  Start: 5th – Fin: 6th

Kennealy finished sixth in a race where he could have really hoped for a better result. He quickly found himself in third place behind Bollman and his Jan’s Racing teammate Keller. However, he lost three positions just before the yellow flag was waved. The flag was converted to a red, dashing any hope of regaining positions in the remaining 90 laps. Kennealy therefore lost a few points in the championship but remained in the game, just 11 points behind Huddleston.

No. 3 Todd Souza (Central Coast Racing) Start: 3rd – Fin: 7th

A frustrating race for Souza, who had a good qualifying session but lost position after position early in the race, dropping from third to seventh. This was his fourth top 10 finish at the CNS in seven races. Curiously, his teammate Reif also lacked pace. The humid weather conditions seemed to have affected CCR’s cars more than their rivals’. Or is it the fact that boss Kelly Souza was absent in Colorado? Indeed, every time CCR wins, she is present at the circuit!

No. 5 Eric Johnson, Jr. (Jerry Pitts Racing) Start: 7th – Fin: 4th

Johnson, Jr. looked set to secure a podium finish in third place, having started the race in sixth place following Huddleston’s penalty. But it was Huddleston who would snatch that position away from him by “navigating” the track better when the first drops of rain intensified. The interruption of the race will never tell us whether the driver of the No. 5 would have been able to get back at the championship leader.

“After a long and wet night at CNS, our weekend was ultimately cut short at lap 60 due to rain, preventing us from completing the scheduled 150 laps. Despite an early charge into the Top 3, our No. 5 team was credited with a 4th place after slipping back a spot during the starting stages of the rain.

We’re leaving with another new track checked off our list! I honestly learned a lot this weekend with our team, and I’ll take those lessons as we prepare for Kern Raceway in just a few weeks! Still plenty to learn and clean up on my end of things but I’m enjoying every second of the process. Our time will come.» Johnson, Jr. said

No. 13 Tanner Reif (Central Coast Racing) Start: 6th – Fin: 5th

This fifth position is a slight disappointment for Reif. Indeed, he, who was one of the big favorites for victory after the mastery he showed in Tucson, a bullring similar to that of the CNS, had a complicated race. A slight lack of speed. Like his teammate Souza, his Toyota seemed to be behind in the wet conditions. While during the practice sessions on Friday (optional practice) and Saturday, with drier air, he was much faster. In the championship, he lost two points to Huddleston but remains more than ever one of the big favorites for the title.

“Ended up P5 after the race got cut due to rain. All around not a bad weekend, Central Coast racing gave me a sweet ride this weekend. I’m sure we would have had a great finish given better conditions. Only lost two points on our way to the ARCA West Series championship. Keep our nose to the grindstone and get them at the next one.” Reif said.

No. 19 Jake Bollman (Bill McAnally Racing) Start: 1st – Fin: 1st

Almost everything was said in the race review. Bollman had a perfect Saturday. Pole, all laps led, and victory. His first career victory, the 100th for his BMR team. He was able to maintain the race lead when the green flag waved and keep a very pressing Kyle Keller behind him. He wasn’t responsible for the rain interrupting the race. How would the remaining 90 laps have gone if the race had restarted? We’ll never know, and it doesn’t matter. Bollman is only competing for a partial season with the No. 19 car, and that’s unfortunate because he would have been a formidable contender for the championship! “What a night and what a car. This is incredible to be part of such a historic milestone for Bill (McAnally) and just continue the tradition of this team in the ARCA Menards Series West. There’s been so many people and drivers that have played a part in getting here, so it’s pretty incredible to get my first win in the 100th for the team. We felt really good about coming here with how we ran at Tucson. These guys did a great job preparing our NAPA Chevrolet and this is extremely special to get a win in this paint scheme for NAPA’s 100th anniversary.” Bollman says.

No. 23 Eric Rhead (Clark Racing)  Start: 9th – Fin: 9th

Rhead did the job in Colorado, a track he’s familiar with in other categories. For his first race with Clark Racing, he managed to stay in the top 10 throughout the race. He received a free pass during the only caution… But it ultimately served him no purpose, as the race didn’t restart. With this ninth position, he earned his first career top 10 finish. We really hope to see the friendly bearded man again this season, either with Clark Racing or with his own team.

“Well unfortunately Mother Nature won this weekend. We got some Arca practice in Friday. Saturday was not in our favor. The track did what it could to get as many races in. We fought both cars on being to tight all weekend. Qualified 9th in Arca, and 8th in Mods. We got the dash in for the mod and got into the Arca car. They ended up calling the race at 60 Laps for rain. They waited around until 11pm before calling it officially rained out.” Rhead said.

No. 50 Trevor Huddleston (High Point Racing)  Start: 4th – Fin: 3rd

Qualifying in fourth place, Huddleston will have to start the race from last position due to an unapproved adjustment. But if the race hadn’t been interrupted by rain, his decision might have been the right one. Indeed, he had the fastest car and he snuck through the pack from 12th to third in less than 50 laps. He was gaining time on the leading duo when the yellow flag was waved. However, Huddleston shouldn’t have any regrets. Sure, he could have won. But he took points from his closest rivals in the championship, with the exception of Keller. He now stands alone as the leader with 161 points. And the next race will take place in Bakersfield, where he won on January 25.

No. 51 Blake Lothian (Strike Mamba Racing) Start: 8th – Fin: 8th

The rookie is improving from race to race. He had a good pace throughout the race and achieved his best career result with this eighth position. He was able to stay on the leader’s lap despite the difficult conditions. At this pace, he will soon be a contender for the top 5. It will be interesting to quantify his progress in Bakersfield on June 14th since it will be the first time this season that he will drive on a track he already knows behind the wheel of an ARCA West car.

No. 71 Kyle Keller (Jan’s Racing Team)  Start: 2nd – fin: 2nd

Keller finished second in a race where he really had a chance to win. He put constant pressure on the leader Bollman, but the latter didn’t make a single mistake. However, he had a good run in the championship, as he was the only one to gain a point on the leader Huddleston. Victory is close for Keller and Jan’s Racing. We’re all looking forward to seeing the “Bakersfield’s rematch” in two weeks. Remerber, he finished the race glued to Huddleston’s rear bumper in last january. “P2 again. Race got shortened because of rain. Congrats to the 19 team on their 100th win! Thank you to my entire crew on the Jan’s Racing Team for their hard work all weekend! Good points night heading into Kern! We should be good there! Thank you Jan Qualkenbush for giving me this opportunity to run the No. 71 Ford Mustang! Thank you Steve Bohanon and David Bohanon for giving us an awesome deal on our rooms for both our team and the 50 team! Thank you Swift Springs Argus Construction Services Brian Kizer, BC Kizer, Lopez’s, Marco, Prado, Mike, John.” Keller said.

No. 72 Holly Clark (Strike Mamba Racing) Start: 10th – Fin: 10th

For her debut, the young driver did the job. She had the pace to fight for a top-10 finish and was able to use her track knowledge to achieve her goal. It’s worth noting that she was battling for ninth place with Rhead when the yellow flag was waved. Holly definitely needs to be seen in a West Series car again this season. “I was running 10th and looking to pass for 9th when it started to rain and they eventually called the race. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to run a full race, but I still learned a lot this weekend and had tons of fun. Hope to see yall at the next one! » Clark said.

No. 77 Mariah Boudrieau (Performance P-1 Motorsports)  Start: 11th – Fin: 12th

Disappointment for Boudrieau, who was looking to secure her first top 10 finish on hometrack. But the car didn’t easily navigate the Bullring’s tight corners. But race preparation wasn’t easy for the PP1M team. As a reminder, while leaving Tucson for the race shop last month, the team’s hauler was hit from behind by another truck. As a result, a lot of equipment was destroyed or damaged, including the car. Joe Nava, the owner, even had to resort to using a pickup truck and small trailer for Colorado. “Just like the real old days.” Nava said. We really hope to see the team in Bakersfield.

“I was running 11th for most of the race fighting an extremely tight car. I ultimately finished 12th. It started to rain and they eventually called the race at lap 60 , It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to run a full race. Thank you to all of my amazing sponsors- All Phase Construction of Colorado Springs , Rex MD, Wallace Sign company, CWW, and Highline Photography.” Boudrieau said.
