MIAMI, FL — Monster Energy NASCAR Cup driver Corey LaJoie is heading into Sunday’s season-finale Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway having the best season of his Cup career in the No. 32 Ford for Go Fas Racing. However, the driver known as SuperShoe still remains unsigned for the 2020 Cup season with only one race remaining on the 2019 schedule.
Last December, it was announced with much excitement at the NASCAR Hall of Fame that LaJoie had been signed to drive the No. 32 Ford for the Archie St. Hilaire owned team.
The opportunity to drive the full schedule would be a first for LaJoie who competed in 57 events in NASCAR’s premiere series from 2014 to 2018 with a majority of those starts coming with the now folded BK Racing, as well as TriStar Motorsports.
Even with those opportunities, the 28-year old never ran the full schedule until this season and he’s having a career best season with a number of sponsors on board his No 32 including but not limited too; Keen Parts / CorvetteParts, Schluter Systems, and Old Spice to name a few.
Furthermore, LaJoie waived a month’s salary to put Samaritan’s Feet – a charity that gives shoes to people in need around the world on the car at Watkins Glen International and then went on to have them on the car at Charlotte’s Roval configuration as well. For each event, LaJoie personal wrote the names of people who donated to the charity on his No. 32 Ford Mustang.

In 35 starts this season heading into Sunday afternoon’s Ford EcoBoost 400 at South Florida’s Homestead-Miami Speedway, LaJoie earned the first two top-ten finishes of his Cup career, in addition to four top-15 and 12 top-25 finishes.
“It’s been great off the race track as well as on. Especially on, Go Fas is giving me cars that are capable of being competitive and engines that last.”, said LaJoie. We’ve had some really good finishes this year, to finish 18th at Martinsville, 12th at the Coke 600, and almost Top-10 at all the speedways speaks well of what these guys are doing with a little, once we get them a little bit more I’m excited to see what they can do.”
LaJoie often uses the hashtag stacking pennies on Twitter following a race which is his equivalent of expressing small victories for the team that weekend.
“If we are stacking pennies that’s just a small victory every week. We’re not going to be stacking dimes or quarters like some of these bigger teams. The penny stack is not speeding on pit road or beating two out of the three Front Row cars or even beating a JTG car.
LaJoie will look to close out the season strong in South Florida in hopes of embarking on his second full-time season in the Cup Series in 2020.
Note: It was a couple of weeks ago that Go Fas Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing will form a technical alliance beginning with the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season. 2020 driver negotiations for the No. 32 Ford Mustang are also on going.
