Willie Mullins Doubling Down in Speedweek; Running East Race at New Smyrna

Willie Mullins will be pulling double duty during ARCA’s Speedweek in Flordia again this season.

Mullins announced on Twitter that he’ll be running in the ARCA Menards Series East Jeep Beach 175 at New Smyrna Speedway on February 8. He will then follow that up later in the week at Daytona International Speedway with the Lucas Oil 200 presented by General Tire.

Mullins has just one career start in the East Series coming last season at New Smyrna. He started 23rd and finished the race in 20th. He’ll make his 20th career ARCA Menards Series start in the following race at Daytona, the very same track he earned his career-best finish in 2018 finishing runner-up.

In addition to his runner-up finish, Mullins has three top-10 finishes in his 19 career ARCA starts. All three top-10 finishes came at ‘The World Center of Racing,’ Daytona. In 17 of Mullins’ 19 starts he was a driver-owner. At Talladega Superspeedway and Kentucky Speedway last year, he drove for Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Racing.

The ARCA Menards Series East Jeep Beach 175 will be broadcasted live on NBC Sports Gold TrackPass at 7:40 p.m./ET on February 8. Meanwhile, the live broadcast on FS1 of the ARCA Menards Series Lucas Oil 200 presented by General Tire  will start at 1:30 p.m./ET on February 13.
