NASCAR Cup Series driver Corey LaJoie revealed on his “Sunday Money” podcast on Tuesday that he will remain behind the wheel of the No. 32 Ford Mustang for Go Fas Racing for the 2020 season.

The deal is a one-year deal with LaJoie embarking on his second full-time season in NASCAR’s top series.

“I don’t know if everybody was expecting that because it took a little while to get done, a little longer than both sides probably would have liked,” LaJoie said. “I’m ultimately super excited to go back.”

LaJoie stated he is okay with a one-year deal.

“(Owner) Archie (St. Hilaire) likes doing one-year deals, which I think is ok because things can change periodically, right?” LaJoie said on Tuesday. “I think this is a crazy, crazy time in the sport with people retiring or moving around. The best I can figure, there’s probably only legitimately seven or eight cars that have their drivers committed for 2021. Everybody else is up in the air. So hopefully I can position myself the following year to be in something really good. But I am concentrated fully on 2020 with Go Fas.”

2019 marked the first time LaJoie ran the full NASCAR Cup Series schedule after competing in 57 events from 2014 to 2018 with a majority of those starts coming with the now folded BK Racing, as well as TriStar Motorsports.

In 36 events this season, 28-year old LaJoie earned his first two top-10 finishes of his Cup career, in addition to four top-15 and 12 top-25 finishes.

LaJoie often uses the hashtag stacking pennies on Twitter following a race which is his equivalent of expressing small victories for the team that weekend.

“If we are stacking pennies that’s just a small victory every week. We’re not going to be stacking dimes or quarters like some of these bigger teams. The penny stack is not speeding on pit road or beating two out of the three Front Row cars or even beating a JTG car.

Go Fas Racing will see some changes in 2020 as the team previously announced a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.

“We got some Stewart-Haas cars coming into the shop today, so I’m going to go over there and check that out” LaJoie said.

In addition, LaJoie will be looking for a new Crew Chief as Randy Cox will not return to the No. 32 in 2020.

We’re talking obviously with the Stewart-Haas Xfinity guys, nobody really knows what’s going to go on there,” LaJoie said.
