HAMPTON, Ga. — Michael McDowell claimed his fifth Busch Light Pole Award of the 2024 season Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“It’s a sign of how hard everyone at Front Row Motorsports is working,” McDowell told PRN. “To get our fifth for the year, if we’d said that in January, we’d have been like no way. It’s amazing to see the speed we’ve had at superspeedways. Really proud of it.”
McDowell’s lap of 30.926 seconds / 179.267 put him at the top of the scoring pylon followed by Ryan Blaney, Todd Gilliland, and Josh Berry and Kyle Larson in fifth.
The Pole marks McDowell’s fourth consecutive on a superspeedway track, the first driver to do so since Bill Elliott in the 1985/1986 season according to NASCAR statistician Tre Ryan.
