DGR-Crosley added another famous family to its’ ARCA Menards Series roster at Daytona International Speedway having signed Thad Moffitt.

Moffitt, the grandson of NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty, will drive the Performance Plus Richard Petty Signature Series Ford Fusion. His Ford Fusion will also feature the iconic ‘Petty Blue’ paint scheme. Moffitt has Ford Performance development driver Hailie Deegan as a teammate.

The Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire marks the second time that Moffitt has competed at the 2.5-mile track. Last year, he was running inside the top-15 before being involved in an accident with 10 laps to go in the scheduled distance.

The Petty family has a combined 12 wins at Daytona International Speedway between Lee Petty, Richard, and Kyle Petty.

“Daytona is a very special place for my family,” Moffitt admitted. “I had the opportunity to race there last year in the ARCA Menards Series, and can’t wait to go back. Between the experience I’ve gained throughout the course of the season, and the talent within the DGR-Crosley organization, I feel confident that we will have a strong showing.”

In 15 career ARCA Menards Series starts, Moffitt has five top-10 finishes. The 19-year-old has a best finish of ninth (three times).

“Performance Plus Richard Petty Motor Oil was developed to continue the winning heritage of the Petty family, and I’m proud to be a part of it,” Moffitt stated. “The relationship that we are building is really special, and I’m looking forward to continuing that into 2020.”

DGR-Crosley has one victory in the ARCA Menards Series at Talladega Superspeedway. In its’ current form, the team has 21 total ARCA Menards Series starts with five top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. DGR-Crosley also has three pole positions.

Moffitt will attend the ARCA Menards Series test at Daytona International Speedway as a spectator. His debut with DGR-Crosley will be Feb. 8.
