Friday Rained Out in Pocono; Zane Smith on Truck Pole

Tornado warnings and heavy rain slammed Pocono Raceway Friday afternoon, cancelling qualifying for the Camping World Truck Series.

The weather placed point leader Zane Smith on pole for Saturday’s 60-lapper from Pocono.

“That’s probably the easiest pole I’ve ever gotten,” Smith joked to the media following the cancellation. “This is a brand new truck for us — it’s supposed to be the best one we have. I’m not so worried about the speed factor, I just hope that heights are right. We’ll find out very soon. That’s the only thing you’re skeptical about.

“I’m pretty familiar with Pocono. As long as they didn’t add another turn or something, I should be all right.”

Chandler Smith will roll off second followed by Carson Hocevar, Stewart Friesen and Christian Eckes in the top five. Ty Majeski starts sixth with Derek Kraus, Grant Enfinger, Kaz Grala and Colby Howard in the top 10.
