NASCAR team 22 Racing announced that driver Stewart Friesen will drive their No. 24 car in the Pinty’s Series at Ohsweken Speedway in August.

The event in which Friesen will compete for the 22 Racing team is scheduled to take place on the 18th of August. Stewart Friesen competes full-time in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driving the No. 52 Toyota Tundra for Halmar-Friesen Racing. Friesen finished his 2019 Truck Series campaign finishing fourth in the driver standings with two wins, 12 top-five, and 16 top-10 finishes.

In addition to his time spent in the Truck Series, Friesen has competed in over 900 dirt races in his career being a top competitor in Northeast Dirt Modified racing, and he has also seen success in the World of Outlaws sprint car series.

“I am very excited to be coming back to Ohsweken,” said Stewart Friesen.  “When I saw this race come up on their schedule, I immediately wanted to race in it.  We can also bring our experience from Eldora to the 22 Racing team.  I look forward to working with Scott (Steckly) and his group and representing Qwick Wick & Mister Transmission.”

Friesen’s No. 24 will feature two prominent Canadian brands in support of his Ohsweken entry. Qwick Wick fire starters will be making their second appearance on a 22 Racing car. The company also partnered with Chandler Smith and the No. 26 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in August of 2019.

“We are extremely excited to partner with 22 Racing again and sponsor the #24 car of Stewart Friesen,” said Frank Wall, President & CEO of Qwick Wick Inc in a team press release.  “Last year we had the great pleasure of working with their team and meeting some of the amazing fans of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series.  We’re thrilled to be part of this iconic moment in NASCAR history at the Ohsweken Speedway.  Most importantly, we’re looking forward to hearing some great racing stories around the campfire this upcoming race season!”

In addition, Mister Transmission will also adorn the No. 24 in Friesen’s NASCAR Pinty’s Series debut.

“At Mister Transmission, we’re proud to be part of Canada’s premier race series, the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and we’re pleased to be supporting Stewart Friesen, a Canadian-born NASCAR driver.  For over 55 Years, Mister Transmission has been supporting both Canadian racing enthusiasts and daily commuters alike with our transmission & driveline expertise and Canada’s best nationwide warranty”, said Tony Kuczynski, President and CEO at Mister Transmission.

“Everyone at 22 Racing is extremely excited to have Stewart in the #24 car at Ohsweken for the inaugural NASCAR Pinty’s Series dirt race,” said Scott Steckly owner of 22 Racing.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge with him and he is a great competitor and a welcome addition to our driver roster for this event.  Qwick Wick returning to our team is also huge for us as we had a blast at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with them last year handing out samples and getting to know them. We are also thrilled to welcome Mister Transmission to our partner group.  We met a few of their franchisees a couple of years ago at Jukasa and they were an enthusiastic group.”
