Go Fas Racing announced on Friday that they will form a technical alliance with one of Ford’s most competitive teams in the Cup Series Stewart-Haas Racing beginning with the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

“2020 will be an exciting year at GFR with the addition of SHR cars and their technical assistance,” said St Hilaire in a team press release.

“I can’t thank all of the great people at SHR for the opportunity to align with them. All of this couldn’t happen without the help of our wonderful sponsors and marketing partners. GFR has improved every year in our six years in the NASCAR Cup Series and I believe that the best is yet to come for this little team and our great group of employees.”

The new alliance will provide Go Fas Racing with chassis, data and technical support for the No. 32 Ford Mustang in addition to the relationship the team continues to have with Roush Yates Engines and Ford Performance.

“This arrangement will allow Go Fas Racing to improve its performance in 2020 and position itself for future growth,” said Greg Zipadelli, Vice President of Competition for SHR (Stewart-Haas Racing) in a press release.

Go Fas Racing debuted in the 2011 Daytona 500 from Daytona International Speedway with Terry Labonte piloting the No. 32 to a 15th place finish in the teams Cup Series debut.

Currently, Go Fas fields the No. 32 Ford Mustang full-time in the MENCS with Corey LaJoie behind the wheel.

LaJoie has two top-tens on the season thus far coming in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 from Daytona International Speedway in July and the 1000Bulbs.com 500 from Talladega Superspeedway a few weeks ago.

In addition, LaJoie has earned seven top-20s and 12 top-25s in 2019 with three races remaining this season.

Heading into Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 from Texas Motor Speedway, LaJoie is coming off of a solid 18th place finish in last Sunday’s First Data 500 from Martinsville Speedway.

2020 driver negotiations for the No. 32 Ford Mustang are ongoing.
