BRISTOL, Tenn. – As the NASCAR Xfinity Series gets set to race in the Food City 300 on Friday evening from Bristol Motor Speedway, JD Motorsports as a whole will be racing with heavy hearts.

The team announced on their Facebook account on Tuesday morning that their little buddy, Cooper Stout had passed away the previous morning after a battle with cancer.

Around this time last year, the team had started a charity drive to help Stout who had become an important part of the JD Motorsports family.

With the help from the NASCAR community involved on social media as well as the IndyCar community, the team was able to send the youngster a few different things that really fueled his passion for racing.

The Xfinity Series team will honor Stout’s ‘courage, bravery and tenacity’ with the special decal seen below on all four of its Flex Seal cars this weekend at the track known as the last great Colosseum.
