Joe Gibbs Racing announces extensions with Denny Hamlin, FedEx

Today, Joe Gibbs Racing announced multi-year extensions with both driver NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin and long-time sponsor, FedEx.

Hamlin has spent his entire NASCAR Cup Series career with Joe Gibbs Racing, having made his series debut with the team at Kansas Speedway in 2005. The following season he joined the organization full-time and captured his first win at NASCAR’s elite level at Pocono Raceway in June of 2006. He later went on to win the series second visit to the track that July, sweeping both events at the Tricky Triangle from the pole position.

“I’m so fortunate to have the support of FedEx behind me throughout my career,” said Hamlin. “I take a tremendous amount of pride in having the opportunity to represent them not only on the racetrack, but also in the community through the countless programs they have supported for the better part of these past two decades.”

FedEx has been along for the journey and remained a primary sponsor on the No. 11 car for over fifteen years, including Hamlin’s three DAYTONA 500 victories.

“The relationship between FedEx and our organization has been a tremendous success story in so many ways. We’re excited that FedEx will continue to support Denny and our No. 11 team,” said Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. “Denny continues to perform at the top of our sport. And our goal is to continue to position him and FedEx to win a championship.”

Hamlin’s massive amount of success and consistency across the board has seen him rack up 44 career wins in the NASCAR Cup Series. He also has earned 179 top-five, and 280 top-10’s to go along with 33 pole awards.

The Chesterfield, VA native is the defending DAYTONA 500 Champion, a race victory that long-time sponsor FedEx was on board for.
