Jordan Anderson and his No. 3 Chevrolet for his own Jordan Anderson Racing continue to have a consistent season and that continued during Saturday afternoon’s Corrigan Oil 200 from Michigan International Speedway.

Anderson had a fast truck from the time the team unloaded finishing fifth and 15th in both practice sessions for the series.

That speed continued in Saturday morning’s qualifying session when he qualified his No. 3 Mission Ignition Systems/Bommarito.com Chevrolet to a solid 13th place on the starting grid with a speed of 182.311 mph.

Anderson went on to finish Stage 1 in the 11th position and in Stage 2 he earned his first career Top-5 stage finish crossing the line in 4th. 28-year old Anderson continued to run a clean race and looked poised to possibly finish in the Top-10 if all the cards aligned properly.

However, with 10 laps remaining in the race, Anderson got caught up in someone else’s mess and suffered damage to his Chevrolet. Even with the damage, Anderson was able to rebound back and cross the finish line 14th for his fifth Top-15 finish on the season thus far.

“We grabbed our first ever Top 5 stage finish today before getting caught up in someone else’s mess with 10 laps to go”, said Anderson.

“Even with all the damage we were able to patch 007 back up and rally back to a Top 15 finish. We fought hard for that one today. Just continually counting my blessings for the amazing people that make this team a reality.”

In addition to his five Top-15s on the season, Anderson has nine Top-20s, 13 Top-25 finishes and currently sits 15th in the driver standings.

The South Carolina native heads into Thursday’s UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics from Bristol Motor Speedway with three starts at the half-mile oval.

Anderson’s best finish at the track to date is 16th in 2016 and he’s coming off of a 22nd place result one year ago.

“This last month has reminded me why I love this sport so much and has reignited my passion to keep this team growing every week”, said Anderson.
