KC Chiefs Fan Clint Bowyer Appreciates Bills Mafia

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Clint Bowyer strolled through the gates of Daytona International Speedway last week walking a little taller and prouder.

Not because of anything racing related, the pride was because his beloved Kansas City Chiefs had won the Super Bowl the previous Sunday. While his focus now turns to winning his first Super Bowl of auto racing, the Daytona 500, he revealed an appreciation for another football team and their fanbase while preparing for Daytona Speedweeks.

“I just got to watch my favorite team win the Super Bowl and I’m thinking to myself, ‘I’ve watched them prepare for this game all season,” Bowyer said. “In a few days, I’m going to be doing this completely cold turkey with a relatively new team. It’s tricky because our Super Bowl is our first race and so unique.

“I’m looking forward to the Daytona 500, you always do every single year. We haven’t got it done yet. All you can ask for is the opportunity to be in a position to win. We just need to get it to the end and put it in Victory Lane.”

While his Chiefs did get it done and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy at midfield, Bowyer revealed an appreciation for another AFC opponent and their fan base.

The Buffalo Bills did make the playoffs but didn’t make it past their first game.

“Dude, I’ll tell you what!” Bowyer said. “Following them on Social Media, I ain’t too sure I’m not a Buffalo Bills fan. If nothing else, at least a Bills Mafia fan.

“If anybody could hold a candle to the Chiefs Kingdom, it would be them. I mean, when you start selling out of folding tables because they’re jumping off their RVs, vans and pick-ups through them…I don’t know that level of insanity.”
