LAS VEGAS — Pennzoil and Speedway Motorsports have agreed to a long-term extension of the Pennzoil 400 Presented by Jiffy Lube NASCAR Cup Series race entitlement at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The partnership, which began in 2018, will continue to headline the 1.5-mile speedway’s NASCAR weekend each March. The 2027 Pennzoil 400 will mark the 10th anniversary of the event under the Pennzoil entitlement.
Fernanda Andrade, General Manager of Pennzoil Marketing, explained why Las Vegas is relevant to Pennzoil.
“Las Vegas is an important market for us,” Andrade said. “We have important customers and partners here. And it’s an attractive destination to, you know, for customers across North America. So, Pennzoil 400 give us a unique opportunity to really put together customers from different backgrounds, different areas with our sales team leadership to discuss the future of the lubricants business. And like Joey was saying, like in every Pennzoil 400, we are lucky to have several hundred guests coming and then it’s a unique opportunity for us.
“The 30th year of NASCAR Cup Series racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a special milestone, and Pennzoil is proud to help celebrate it with our 10th anniversary,” said Andrade. “Las Vegas has become one of the most anticipated stops on the schedule for fans, teams, and partners alike, and the Pennzoil 400 has played a key role in that growth. This anniversary is not only a celebration a decade of incredible racing, but also of the long-term relationships we’ve built with Speedway Motorsports, the local community, and the passionate NASCAR fans who power our sport.”
“Pennzoil and Las Vegas Motor Speedway have shared a strong relationship for many years, and we’re proud to continue building on that history as we approach our 10th year together,” said Patrick Lindsey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of LVMS. “Reaching this milestone reflects the strong connection Pennzoil has built with NASCAR and our Speedway over the years. We appreciate Pennzoil’s continued commitment to the sport and look forward to growing this partnership together for many years to come.”
Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford for Team Penske, discussed his long-running relationship with the brand and what the partnership means on and off the track.
“I feel like Shell and Pennzoil goes with the 22 car, Joey Logano, and all those things go so well together,” Logano said. “The partnership goes much deeper than just the branding piece.”
Over the last nine years, the race has traditionally been one of the first five events on the 36-race Cup Series calendar.
The 2027 edition will anchor a double-header weekend with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The weekend begins Friday, March 19, with the LiUNA NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race set for Saturday, March 20 and the NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 Presented by Jiffy Lube on Sunday, March 21.
