MIAMI, FL — Heading into Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season finale, Rick Ware Racing announced on Thursday that the team will field three full-time cars for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season and veteran NASCAR driver J.J. Yeley will pilot one of the team’s entries full-time next season.

“I can’t thank Rick and Lisa Ware enough for the opportunity to be back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup Series car full-time next year.”, said Yeley in a team press release. “They are a family owned team, who continues to grow and build new relationships with sponsors and expand their efforts in NASCAR. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve accumulated some pretty solid finishes and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish in 2020.”

In 14 Cup starts this season for Rick Ware Racing, Yeley has finished every event except Sonoma where a fuel pump issue relegated the Arizona native to a disappointing 38th place finish.

However, Yeley has eight Top-30 finishes including four in the last four races with his best finish of the season being a 12th place in July’s Coke Zero Sugar 400.

“I am excited to have JJ Yeley on board with the Rick Ware Racing organization for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season”, said team owner Rick Ware in a press release. “JJ is a great asset to any team and has a proven track record for bringing home solid finishes for RWR. I look forward to having him on board, as we continue to grow this team.”

Going forward, RWR plans to announce the remainder of their driver line up as well as new and existing sponsorship as they continue to finalize the details.
