Kaulig Racing announced on Tuesday that it will expand its current operation in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020 to two full-time entries. Ross Chastain will join Justin Haley as the teams two drivers next season.
Chastain will pilot the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro with Nutrien AG Solutions being the primary sponsor for 23 races.
Nutrien AG Solutions whom is one of the largest agriculture retail leaders in the world extends its partnership with Kaulig Racing after serving as the primary sponsor for both Chastain and Elliott Sadler in races this season.
In a team press release, Kaulig Racing owner Matt Kaulig said, “Ross Chastain has it all – he’s competitive, he’s marketable, he’s all-around a great, blue-collar guy. As a team, we couldn’t be more honored to land a driver like Ross. In just four races already this season, he’s not only helped advance our program, but he brought home this team’s very first win. Having him at Kaulig Racing next season, driving full-time, is a great gain for our organization.”
Chastain captured the organizations first win back in July in the No. 16 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing at Daytona International Speedway. The victory was Chastain’s second in the series.
“Two of the most important things in my life are agriculture and racing, Nutrien Ag Solutions is the best sponsor I could have ever asked for as it pertains to my family’s long history of farming”, said Chastain in a team press release.
“Matt (Kaulig), Chris (Rice) and all of Kaulig Racing gave me the opportunity to race this year when I really wasn’t sure I would ever get another winning opportunity in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. And, we won. Now, next year, we get to try to win more races and also compete for the championship.”
In 17 starts in the Xfinity Series in 2019, Chastain has one win, one Top-5, and three Top-10 finishes.
Chastain has also been running races in both the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this season. Chastain has been running the NGOTS full-time and has amassed three wins, eight Top-5s and sixteen Top-10 finishes for Niece Motorsports.
While on the Cup side Chastain has run 30 of 32 events for the Jay Robinson owned Premium Motorsports and has earned a season best one Top-10 which came in the season opener Daytona 500 in February.
