NASCAR Xfinity Series regular, Ryan Sieg pulled double duty this past weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway with success in both the Xfinity Series as well as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
Sieg, a regular in the Xfinity garage as well as the owner of RSS Racing raced in Saturday’s Indiana 250, overcoming a multitude of adversity and ultimately bouncing back to finish in the 10th position.
After qualifying his No. 39 Alabama Soda & Abrasive Blasters Chevrolet to a 10th starting spot on the grid, Sieg not only ended up losing his power steering belt, spinning out, went on to lose a lap early on, made his way back up to the 7th position to only lose a bunch of spots on a restart and have to work his way back up through the field.
Sieg’s 10th place finish is his 9th Top-10 thus far on the season. Sieg also has 2 Top-5 finishes and 17 Top-15 finishes in 25 starts.

Fast forward to Sunday’s Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard where Sieg was making his first start in the MENCS since 2017 when he made five starts.
In the No. 27 Sci Aps Chevrolet for Jay Robinson’s Premium Motorsports, Sieg qualified his Chevrolet to a 36th starting spot in the 40-car field.
In his first MENCS start at Indianapolis, Sieg was able to avoid any on track incidents that would bring out nine cautions throughout the afternoon and cross the finish line for his first Top-25 in the Cup Series, finishing 24th.

“It was a pretty good weekend doing the double at Indy. We had a fast car Saturday and probably had a shot at a Top-5 but a Top-10 is still a great day for us.” Sieg told Kickin’ The Tires. “On Sunday, it was all about staying out of trouble and bringing the car back clean”
