On the heels of announcing he will compete in the full 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season; Myatt Snider earned a top-10 finish with RSS Racing.
Snider kept the nose of his No. 93 Louisiana Hot Sauce Chevrolet Camaro SS clean in the Contender Boats 250. As fellow Chevy Racing drivers Justin Allgaier and Anthony Alfredo bounced off the wall at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the rookie-of-the-year contender picked up positions.
A caution with two laps to go forced the race into overtime. Snider had been a lap down, inside the top-10 and took the wave around. The 25-year-old avoided a multi-car wreck on the restart and pitted for fresh tires under the ensuing yellow. Snider briefly went four-wide with the leaders on the final overtime restart. He ultimately settled for seventh in the final battle to the checkered flag.
Snider Tweeted his thoughts post-race:
What a day. Started on the pole, led lap 1, and put ourselves in contention to be up there towards the end. Came away with a P7 finish. Best intermediate finish ever in the 93. It was a (Louisiana) hot (Sauce) one, I had a blast 🏁🔥 onto Dega! pic.twitter.com/KeniUb8RWi

With no qualifying, the field for the Contender Boats 250 was based on a 15-car invert from Saturday’s Hooters 250. Snider finished 15th on Saturday, earning the pole position on Sunday. That is his second career Xfinity pole position and the first for RSS Racing in NASCAR.
Although Snider started on the pole, he did not remain in the top-10. He stayed on track during the competition caution on lap 20. Teammate Ryan Sieg pitted under the caution and won the first stage. Snider dropped back, outside the top-10 as those on different strategies surged forward.
The seventh-place finish is the third top-10 finish for Snider in his Xfinity Series career. It is also his first with RSS Racing. The Charlotte, N.C. native is splitting the 2020 season between Richard Childress Racing and the RSS squad.
Snider remains 15th in the points standings, 19-points behind the playoff cutoff held by Brandon Brown. He is also 231-points behind points leader Noah Gragson.
