In this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday, Kickin’ The Tires relives when NASCAR driver Ross Chastain won his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on September 15, 2018 for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Ross Chastain completely dominated the DC Solar 300 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway in his No 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.
Chastain survived three race restarts in the final 20 laps of the event to claim his first career win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series coming in his 132 start in the series.
Chastain cleared competitor Justin Allgaier in Turns 1 and 2 with five laps remaining and ultimately crossed the finish line with a 1.629-second lead over Allgaier.
The Florida native not only swept the first two stages but he went on to lead 180 of 200 laps.
