When the NASCAR schedule is released each year, there is only one guarantee. That guarantee is the off weekend at Easter.
This off weekend comes at a crucial time for many teams. The off weekend gives a chance for many drivers and crew members to recharge after the West Coast Swing. This guaranteed off weekend allows for teams to evaluate their programs.
Drivers love the weekend off as well. Here are what some drivers will be doing over the off weekend.
Darrell Wallace Jr. will be spending time with his girlfriend, Amanda Carter. While they will not only celebrate Easter together, but they will also be celebrating Carter’s birthday. With no plans set in stone, Wallace knows they will find something to enjoy.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do for Easter. Maybe we’ll just kind of relax. I know she loves that after working Monday through Friday, she just kind of wants to hang at home. We haven’t thought of any super plans yet, but I’m sure we’ll find something to do. And I’m sure I’ll put it on social media for everybody to enjoy,” Wallace stated.
Brad Keselowski appreciates the guaranteed off weekend of Easter and hopes that it is not lost. Keselowski will be spending time with his family, either doing an Easter egg hunt or playing croquet.
“We always like to do something together as a family to try to get outside, whether that’s Easter egg hunts or my family always liked to play croquet, so we still do that as a family. It’s been a lot of fun,” Keselowski stated. “It’s kind of a weird thing to pay, but I’m not really good at any other sport, so I enjoy that one. You can wreck other people in croquet, so that’s always a lot of fun. I’ve always enjoyed that part.”
Denny Hamlin does not have any plans with his two daughters for Easter. However, he will spend this time to enjoy being at home with his family.
“I don’t really have any plans just yet, but definitely enjoy the time at home that we have because there are so few and far in between that we have in our season. I don’t have anything yet, but I’m sure I will be with them in some way,” Hamlin added.
While this off weekend will be enjoyed by many, the preparation for Texas Motor Speedway is underway.
