Following a race-winning season for Thorsport Racing, Grant Enfinger is unsure if he will return to the No. 98 Ford in 2019.
Winning once and scoring six top-five finishes in his second full-time season in the Camping World Truck Series, the 33-year-old is putting in the work for a return to the ride come Daytona in February of 2019.
“I’d like to be back here next year. That’s what everybody is working toward,” Enfinger told Kickin’ The Tires at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “I feel we are all working together toward that goal but nothing is done. I’d like to keep this group together, that’s my plan.”
Despite the uncertainty, Enfinger has kept his mind focused only on the Truck Series and the Thorsport team.
“I’m full-fledged for this effort,” he said. “Anything can happen and you have to roll with it but my whole focus is to make this happen.
“I’m not working on a Plan B, that’s why my wife is employed.”
One of only two drivers to win in 2018 for Thorsport, Enfinger met his initial projections for 2018.
“I’m really happy with the effort everyone put forth,” he said. “We had a solid year with the change over to Ford. We got back to Victory Lane. We had speed. We’re still missing some on average but we had a lot more speed than last year. There were probably six or seven races we had a winning truck. It’s tough to have all the stars line up.
“I look for bigger and better things for next year.”
Three drivers won for ThorSport in 2018. Rhodes, Enfinger, and Briscoe.
