After being sent to the infield care center following the Bojangles Southern 500, Kasey Kahne will not participate this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Kahne, 38, was treated for heat exhaustion after finishing 24th at Darlington. After consulting numerous physicians, the veteran driver opted to take their recommendation to sit out at Indianapolis after testing and evaluations are complete.
Regan Smith will serve as the interim driver of the No. 95 for Leavine Family Racing. A timeframe for Kahne’s return has not been established at this time.
Kahne is the defending winner of the Brickyard 400.
