It was a solid weekend at Talladega Superspeedway for David Ragan and the No. 38 team from Front Row Motorsports.
As with many drivers on the NASCAR circuit, the confidence level of a strong finish at a superspeedway event. For Ragan, the No. 38 Ford Fusion showed speed throughout the weekend.
Without a speeding penalty in the beginning of the race, Ragan believed that the team was running top-15 all day.
“We had a fast car all weekend. We qualified 12th. If it wasn’t for my speeding penalty early, I felt like we could have run in the top-15 all day. Kudos to Front Row Motorsports guys for assembling this car and certainly for the team at the shop and Roush Fenway Racing they put a lot of effort into it,” Ragan stated.
With NASCAR reducing the size of the restrictor plate on Friday afternoon, Ragan noticed almost no difference from Friday. With the field running single file throughout portions of the race, it was tough for Ragan to gain ground, but he understood that it was just the product of any race.
After 10 races in the season, Ragan believes the program Front Row provides has improved in 2018.
“On some of the tracks, I feel like we have improved our program at Front Row Motorsports to run in the top-15 and run in the top-10 on some consistent basis,” Ragan continued.
“Kudos to Front Row Motorsports guys for assembling this car and certainly for the team at the shop and Roush Fenway Racing they put a lot of effort into it.”
With his sixth place finish, Ragan sits 25th in the points standings.
