There are four different names on the MICHELIN Pilot Challenge entry list for this weekend at Sebring International Raceway.
Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes and Myatt Snider—all drivers for ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series—will compete in the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120.
These drivers are entered with support from Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsports.
“We’ve been thrilled with the program so far and the experience it is getting to some of our NASCAR development drivers,” said Mark Rushbrook, the Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports, to IMSA.com. “The 2018 season was the first year we tried it, and outside of Austin Cindric, we had three other drivers in NASCAR Xfinity with little or no road course experience.
“The IMSA GS class provided them a chance to not only practice being better road course drivers, but also better road course racers, learning road course race craft like how to set up passes, and what kind of feedback to give to their crew chiefs and their fellow drivers.”
Crafton and Enfinger will co-drive the No. 22 Ford Mustang GT4, while Snider and Rhodes will pilot the No. 14 Ford Mustang GT4.
Last fall, Snider was able to test with Multimatic Motorsports around Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, but Friday will be the first time each has started in the Pilot series.
The Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 goes green Friday at noon ET and can be streamed live on IMSA.tv with IMSA Radio.
