ATLANTA (May 7, 2025) – Lifelong Atlanta Braves fan Ty Dillon checked a major item off his bucket-list when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the May 7th game at Truist Park between the Braves and the Cincinnati Reds.
The veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver who pilots the No. 10 Chevy for Kaulig Racing was the special guest of Major League Baseball and the Braves, who worked with the team at Bristol Motor Speedway to arrange the appearance for Dillon to help promote NASCAR events and the upcoming MLB Speedway Classic presented by BuildSubmarines.com.
The historic game will be held inside the infield of Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2 between the two National League rivals. It will be the first National or American League game played in the state of Tennessee.
Dillon is the younger brother of fellow NASCAR racer Austin Dillon and grandson to NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner Richard Childress. It was Childress who sparked the interest in the Braves for his grandsons with a trip to a game when they were young. Austin visited the Braves earlier this year for some promotional work around the MLB Speedway Classic and performed a burnout in the outfield in his No. 3 Chevy.
Ty Dillon was presented a special Braves jersey with his name DILLON inscribed on the back and the number 10 on the jersey.
Before the game, Dillon was the subject of an episode of Behind the Braves podcast and also took his kids Oakley and Kapton, and wife Haley, who all accompanied him on the trip, to shop for team gear with a quick stop to the Braves Clubhouse Store.
At the top of the third inning, ace reporter Wiley Ballard interviewed Dillion from his seat for the Fan Duel Sports Network.
Once all of the interviews were completed, Dillon and his family enjoyed watching the game from a premium suite near the Braves dugout.
Dillon returns to action in the NASCAR Cup Series with the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, May 11 (FS1, 3 p.m. ET), and returns to the Peach State on June 29 for the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart at Atlanta Motor Speedway (TNT Sports, 7 p.m. ET).
